“Del Dotto Vineyards’ offerings are some of the more interesting and best made wines made in Napa Valley. Heaven knows how great the 2013s must be given the profound quality of the 2012s from David Del Dotto. Kudos also to his brilliant winemaker, Gerard Zanzonico.”

2012 Del Dotto St. Helena Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon – Rated 98-100
The blue/black-colored 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon St. Helena (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) comes from the base of the Mayacamas Mountains. Stunningly rich, it offers up notes of graphite, blueberry and blackberry liqueur, no hint of oak, and layers of fruit. This skyscraper Cabernet Sauvignon will be accessible in its youth, and should drink well for 20-25+ years. It is a spectacular wine.
2012 Del Dotto The Beast Cabernet Sauvignon – Rated 98-100
Made from a blend of all Del Dotto’s vineyard holdings, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon The Beast’s black/purple color is followed by a wine with off-the-charts richness, incredible density and abundant notes of black currant liqueur, blackberries, graphite, licorice, truffles and incense. This is another candidate for perfection. Full, dense and concentrated with no heaviness or astringency, it is a seamless, well-integrated Cabernet to drink over the next 25 years.
2012 Del Dotto Vineyard 887 Cabernet Sauvignon – Rated 96-98

2012 Del Dotto Rutherford Estate The David- Rated 96
The 2012 Proprietary Red Blend The David Estate is a Rutherford blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot. Production is approximately 450 cases. Graphite, licorice, truffle, roast beef, blackberry and cassis aromas soar from a glass of this dense purple-colored wine. Full-bodied, opulent, complex and already impossible to resist, this glorious 2012 should drink well for a decade or more. Kudos to David Del Dotto!
2012 Del Dotto Giovanni’s Tuscan Reserve- Rated 95
The dense purple-hued 2012 Proprietary Red Blend Giovanni’s Tuscan Reserve is another winner from David Del Dotto. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Sangiovese, it represents a Napa rendition of a Super Tuscan. A top-flight effort, it reveals lots of new saddle leather, licorice, blackcurrants, cherries and spice box characteristics in its complex aromatics, a full-bodied, silky textured, opulent mouth feel, and a voluptuous finish. A staggering wine from both a hedonistic and intellectual perspective, it can be enjoyed over the next 7-8 years.
2012 Del Dotto Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon- Rated 94
The densely-colored 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) exhibits beautiful cedary black currant fruit intermixed with a spicy component, wonderful ripeness, a full-bodied mouth feel, and plenty of forward appeal. Enjoy it over the next 10-15 years.
