The 2007 Villa Del Lago Cabernet Sauvignon is grown on Pritchard Hill above Lake Hennessey in St. Helena. This 20 acre vineyard only produces 1/3 of a ton of grapes per acre! The concentration of this wine is boosted by the use of free run juice only. The nectar that falls out of the grapes without pressing them!

From the beginning of its beautiful mouth feel, to the long finish, the wine shows not only the lush mountain dark fruits, but also a caramelized sugar and chocolate reminiscent of the finest blend of handmade French oak barrels made by artisan coopers for this special wine. The fact that this wine can be drank now or for the next 20+ years is truly the “Del Dotto” style created by the philosophies of the family. At the end of the day this delicious wine is addicting to drink and will prove to be the best wine
associated with the Del Dotto portfolio.

From the estate’s 20 acres of vines planted on Pritchard Hill,, overlooking Lake Hennessey, the Cabernet Sauvignon Villa Del Lago may turn out to be Del Dotto’s flagship wine. The opaque purple-hued 2007 exhibits abundant quantities of blueberries, spring flowers, and noticeable minerality. This is a provocative, rich, potentially very long-lived Cabernet Sauvignon somewhat reminiscent of Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet. This 2007 should drink well for 20+ years.
