The Del Dotto’s vineyards consist of seven specially selected sites consisting of 436 acres with 120 planted. With varietals including: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Sangiovese. It took 18 years to find the ideal sites for the selected clones to maximize the terroir flavors in the wine. Each vineyard is organically farmed. This includes weeding by hand, no sprays or chemical fertilizers. The plants are meticulously tended by professional vineyard workers with love.

SONOMA COAST CINGHIALE VINEYARD (Sonoma Coast)
This outstanding vineyard overlooking the Pacific Ocean was purchased in 2005 and consists of 359 acres at the top of King's Ridge in the Sonoma Coast appellation.  This is arguably some of the best vineyard land in the world for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.  We named it "Chinghiale Vineyard," Italian for wild boar, an inhabitant of the area. The 34 acres of Pinot Noir vines are planted to a variety of clonal selections including 828, 777, Swan, and Calera, as well as some special selections with lineages going back to top Burgundian vineyards.  The 9 acres of Chardonnay vines consist of top Dijon clones as well as the classic Hyde clone.  The vineyard has already established itself through its past owner W.H. Smith who received a 97 point rating from the Wine Spectator in 2003, the highest rating of the vintage for an American Pinot Noir.  Consistently scoring in the mid-ninty point range, look for this world class vineyard to be an annual producer of excellent wines.
