This is the American oaked offering of the aforementioned Cabernet from the base of the Mayacamas mountain range. The U-Stave refers to the curing of the inside of the barrel which is carved and grooved through each piece of oak to increase surface area from the oak to the wine thus intensifying the flavors from the barrel. This fabulous Cabernet has a bouquet of fresh campfire smoke, charred meat, mocha, coffee beans and blackberrys. The flavors are just as complex and full bodied as it's French Oak counterpart which an even deeper nuance from the barrel. There are hints of bacon, brown sugar, plum and espresso that coat the palate also finishing with a long silky powerful elegance.
