For many years, we have patiently nurtured our Tawny-style dessert wine in barrel, allowing time and tradition to shape its character. This release carries an average age of eleven years, achieved through our solera-style aging system — a living blend of vintages harmonized over time.

This wine is named in honor of Dolores Del Dotto, mother of Dave Del Dotto, whose Portuguese heritage inspired its creation. While the name “Port” is reserved exclusively for wines from Portugal’s Douro Valley, this wine pays tribute to that tradition while expressing a distinctly Napa Valley identity.

From first glance, the wine reveals its luminous tawny hue — a captivating blend of brick red, deep orange, and vibrant garnet tones, the natural result of extended oak aging and gentle oxidation. The aromatics are warm and layered, filled with hazelnut, toasted almond, and chestnut, intertwined with very ripe currant and blueberry extract. Subtle notes of fresh cedar and fine leather add depth and sophistication.

On the palate, the elegance truly unfolds. Silky, sweet Napa Valley fruit integrates seamlessly with the warmth and richness provided by the brandy fortification. Eleven years of solera aging lend remarkable balance, depth, and continuity, creating a wine that is truly seamless from entry to its long, refined finish.

The 11-year age statement reflects the average maturity within the solera — a testament to patience, tradition, and family heritage. Fully matured in barrel, it is ready to be savored upon release.
