The 2012 Sonoma Coast Syrah maintains its sense of terroir with fresh Earthy aromas surrounded by fruit qualities of ripe plum, black cherries, and even red licorice. Classic coastal Syrah spices show through with notes of white pepper, clove, and allspice. The silky entry gives way to an expansive mouthfeel and structure that only Syrah can provide.
The 2012 Syrah Cinghiale Vineyard has an impenetrable black/purple color to the rim (clearly more opaque than the 2011). A real stunner, with good acidity and notes of licorice, blackberry, bacon fat and grilled meats, this dense, full-bodied, concentrated and impressive Syrah soars in quality over the very good and much more evolved 2011. Impressive, rich, and capable of 10-15 years of cellaring, this Syrah is extremely promising and another impressive example from the Sonoma Coast. eRobertParker.com #221 Oct 2015 92+ Points Drink: 2015-2030
