Cinghiale Vineyard – Fort Ross-Seaview Sonoma Coast
Perched high above the Pacific Ocean along the rugged ridgelines of the Fort Ross-Seaview AVA, our Cinghiale Vineyard—Italian for wild boar—is named for the frequent inhabitants that roam this wild coastal estate. Purchased in 2004, the vineyard sits atop King’s Ridge on the Sonoma Coast.
The 359-acre property is planted primarily to Pinot Noir, followed by Chardonnay, with smaller blocks of Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre. Positioned above the coastal fog line, the vineyard enjoys abundant sunshine balanced by cooling Pacific breezes, creating a long growing season that develops vibrant acidity, purity of fruit, and layered aromatics.
A diverse selection of Burgundian and California heritage clones further enhances the vineyard’s complexity and expression of this remarkable coastal terroir.

From our Cinghiale Vineyard on the rugged Sonoma Coast within the prestigious Fort Ross-Seaview AVA, we craft three expressions of both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Perched high above the Pacific Ocean along dramatic coastal ridgelines, the vineyard produces wines defined by vibrant acidity, purity of fruit, and layered aromatics.
Each vineyard block and clone can perform differently in any given vintage. Through careful barrel selection, our winemaking team evaluates fruit from across the property—including older plantings, premier soil types, and vineyard blocks with ideal aspect and orientation—to determine the finest expressions of the vineyard each year.
Production naturally reflects this process of selection, with the largest volume produced for the Caves wines, smaller selections bottled as Estate, and only the most exceptional barrels reserved for the Family Reserve.

Our pinnacle selection, produced from the finest barrels and clones of the vintage. Production is extremely limited—typically just a handful of barrels, often no more than six in a given vintage—creating the most profound and cellar-worthy expression of Cinghiale Vineyard.
