2021 Vineyard 887 Single Cluster Cabernet Sauvignon 1.5L with Wood Box

Limited Edition Presented in a beautiful 1.5 Liter Wood Box.

Astonishingly full and complex, this is the most impressive selection of all of our estate properties.  Incredibly dense, it will take a long time for this wine to unfold.  Immediate notes of black licorice, tar, and anise give way to intense blackberry, graphite, cedar, and eventually opens to floral notes.  The density of the wine continues to the mouthfeel.  Deep, full, textured, and full of fine tannins, this wine will continue to evolve for endless years to come.

This passion project that we refer to as "Operation 100" has been an on-going mission to make the best wines we can: 100 Point wines! We originally produced these special offerings as an experiment with the 2014 vintage where we designated a few rows from each of our premier single vineyard blocks for this special project. 

Essentially, a cordon-trained grapevine, with two arms and five shoots on each arm, optimally ripens two clusters of grapes per shoot.  We decided to cut back the fruit to yield a single cluster per shoot which we hoped would increase the vines' ability to produce a more intense and concentrated wine. It did just that!  The resulting wine highlighted each single vineyard's characteristics and complexities, with lush nuances and had incredible structure and quality.

We created a label to highlight the incredible quality of the single cluster wines and only release these wines in the BEST vintages.
