Tasting Notes:​​​​​​

While utilizing a collection of different forests, Taransaud prioritizes its unique selection process focused around the Troncais forest.  Similar to Darnajou, Taransaud barrels typically emphasize balance, softening of tannins, and elegant touches to the wine rather than intensity of oak flavor. Taransaud exclusively uses French oak, with logs processed into rough staves using a laser-assisted technique.  They emphasize rigorous methods at every stage of production, including wood selection, seasoning, and toasting, with Bureau Veritas certifying the French origin and seasoning times.  While respecting traditional methods, Taransaud incorporates modern technologies like digital time and temperature readings for toasting and testing for contaminants.  They work closely with winemakers to meet specific requirements and achieve desired aromatic profiles.  Taransaud barrels are highly regarded by winemakers worldwide, particularly for Bordeaux varietals, and are increasingly used for other fine varieties. 

Another world class cooper producing barrels that are fit for only the best wines in the world.  The nose is pure and focused the barrel tannin is ultra fine grain from the ancient Troncais forest, along with the richness of fruit and skin tannin, the mouthfeel is dense and luscious.  This would is an absolute must of any collection!
