VINEYARD

The Cave Blend is crafted from a selection of vineyard sites across Napa Valley, including St. Helena, Calistoga, Oakville, and Rutherford. The blend changes slightly each vintage, allowing our winemaking team to select the best-performing varietals and vineyard lots to create a balanced and expressive Napa Valley red.

A portion of the blend also incorporates select press wines from our Estate vineyard program. These wines add additional depth, structure, and richness, contributing to the layered character and complexity that define the Cave Blend.

First produced in 2000, the Del Dotto Cave Blend reflects the spirit of our renowned cave and barrel tasting experiences—approachable, expressive, and crafted to showcase the artistry of blending.

Tasting Notes:

The 2024 Cave Blend opens with an enticing bouquet of wild boysenberry, dark cassis, and ripe black plum, accented by notes of ground clove and crushed violet. On the palate, the wine is seamless and velvety, unfurling rich layers of dark cherry, marionberry, and sweet nutmeg supported by melted, fine-grained tannins and a lush, satin texture.

Cabernet Sauvignon continues to anchor the blend with structure and focus, while the complementary varietals lift the mid-palate with bright energy and depth. The finish is broad, silky, and endlessly persistent, offering immediate approachability and pure drinking pleasure.
