It’s quite easy to see why the Darnajou barrel has quickly become one of the most sought-after coopers in the world of fine Cabernets! The Darnajou barrel is created using an elite selection of oak in addition to complex toasting techniques to create the ultimate “Ghost Barrel”.   We gave it this nickname the ghost barrel as the oak is integrated with the juice so seamlessly, it allows the fruit to be the showcase yet with firm and complex additions from the oak.  Darnajou has been able to create a smooth, well-rounded blend of complex subtleties making the oak untraceable. Wines matured in these barrels develop an effortlessly smooth mid-palate weight while also possessing a wide range of sweet, yet structural tannins that frame Cabernet Sauvignon grapes perfectly.
