The Darnajou barrel is created using an elite selection of oak in addition to complex toasting techniques to create the ultimate “Ghost Barrel”. We gave it this nickname the ghost barrel as the oak is integrated with the juice so seamlessly, it allows the fruit to be the showcase yet with firm and complex additions from the oak. While utilizing a collection of different forests, Taransaud prioritizes its unique selection process focused around the Troncais forest. Similar to Darnajou, Taransaud barrels typically emphasize balance, softening of tannins, and elegant touches to the wine rather than intensity of oak flavor.
