While it's built from the same clonal selections as our Rutherford estate, the David blend from Howell Mountain is a distinctly different expression. Grown at a higher elevation, this wine is a true mountain Cabernet with significantly more structure and concentration.

Although propagated from the identical vine material as our Rutherford estate, "The David" from Howell Mountain yields a remarkably distinct, high-altitude character. Rooted in elevated terrain, this is a quintessential mountain-grown blend, boasting amplified structural grip and profound density.
In this rugged terroir, the synergistic interplay of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot takes on a more brooding, powerful profile. The aromatic core delivers dense black cherry and cured cigar wrapper, intricately woven with mineral accents of wet slate and lead pencil shavings. Matured exclusively in premium new French cooperage, this highly restricted eight-cask micro-lot is engineered for endurance. It possesses the formidable architecture to cellar exceptionally well over the next two decades.
