Tasting Notes:

The Darnajou barrel aka “the ghost barrel” is a couture wine barrel made by the Darnajou family cooperage in France. We have nicknamed it the ghost barrel because it influences the wine with amazing oak flavors and is so integrated it really highlights the richness of the fruit coming from the Vineyard 887 Cabernet Sauvignon. Darnajou prides their artistry on the meticulous selection of trees based on the density of its grain and the subsequent natural air-drying process of the staves over a 16–24-month period.  With these strict practices, this barrel selection may be top of its class in both a balanced bouquet, incredibly voluptuous mouthfeel and perfectly clean and mile long finish.  We receive a limited number of these barrels as the owners approve who they are sold to. They only allow wineries that produce world-class wines to have their barrels.
