Powerful yet elegant dust and earth driven bouquet with concentrated aromas of chocolate and spice, true to the well-known A.V.A these vines call home. With a welcomed mouthfeel of bright red cherry and raspberry fruit flavours balanced with slight flinty and toasted oak, vanilla and cedar characteristics. Elegantly integrated tannins provide this Cabernet’s strong finish and full palate intensity.
2015 Rutherford Estate Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is grown on our estate property in Rutherford. It is a classic example of one of the worlds greatest wine growing regions. Dense dark plum with aromas of dusty baker’s chocolate, mocha, vanilla, blackberry layered with loam, freshly stripped tree bark, deep black fruits, dark currant, rhubarb, Cuban cigar and a touch of eucalyptus and white flowers. The palate presents supple beautifully rounded tannins, a hint of tobacco, boysenberry cobbler, cocoa, cedar, cinnamon & nutmeg. This wine has an elegant lingering velvety finish. We refer to this wine as the James Bond of Cabernet!
2016 Rutherford Estate Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
The big brother to The David, this is 100% Estate grown Cabernet from the Rutherford property. The classic nose joins The David with beautiful hints of earth, Rutherford dust, mushroom and fresh cut tobacco. As this amazing wine opens, aromatics of black mission fig and black raspberries unfold. The mouthfeel is perfectly rounded and offers layers of nutmeg, cinnamon, blueberry pastry, blackberry marmalade and a splash of chocolate pudding on the finish. This wine is densely structured, balanced by a satin like finish. Truly World Class Cabernet to enjoy now for the next 15-20 years!
2017 Rutherford Estate Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
This is 100% Rutherford Estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon the pure version of the best fruit that is blended to create The David. This is a famous Clone 7 that bares the historic bloodlines of Château Margaux . The nose is a tad more intense and richer than The Rutherford Estate David, pleasantly so from a being pure Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromatics of chocolate-covered espresso beans unfold into blackberry jam and slate. Flavors are powerful yet incredibly balanced, reminiscent of German chocolate cake with black puree fruit filling. The finish is lengthy and viscous. A classic Napa creation that should drink well for 15-20 years.
